A conflict of interest exists when professional judgement concerning the validity of research may be influenced by a secondary interest, such as financial gain, personal relationships, or institutional affiliation. AMMR requires full disclosure from all parties.
Authors
Authors must declare all sources of funding and any financial or non-financial competing interests in a 'Conflict of Interest' statement within the manuscript. Where none exist, authors must state that explicitly.
Reviewers
Reviewers must decline any assignment where they have a conflict of interest with the authors or the subject matter (for example, recent collaboration, shared institution, or a competing project) and must inform the editor.
Editors
Editors must not handle manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest and must delegate such submissions to another editor. Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit.
